The course "Environmental Policy Trends and debugging, sustainable management and exploitation of swine effluent" is included within the range of summer courses at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
This is a conference to reaffirm the university and research profile of our city.
Be held in the auditorium of the Santa Quiteria Fairgrounds from 12 to 16 July.
Councillor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, Principal Investigator and Professor of the Group Management, Use and Recovery of Soil and Water "Department of Agricultural Science and Technology of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Angel Faz Cano, have this morning a summer course which will address the alternatives for the reuse of purines.
It's "Environmental Policy Trends and debugging, sustainable management and exploitation of swine effluent," framed in the summer courses at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
Melchior Morales has said that in the Region of Murcia pig livestock sector is very important, as in the valley region Guadalentín, where he concentrates most of the pig.
In fact, estimates indicate that today our municipal numbers 851 pig farms, which meet around the 660,000 cattle, which produce around 750,000 tons of manure each year.
As a result, the Region of Murcia year generated a total of 1.6 million tons of pig manure, waste which needs to find a solution.
The potential risks and environmental impacts that may result from poor management thereof, are obvious.
Currently there are several alternatives that are being managed for its management, being perhaps one of the most interesting of its value as a soil improver, by way of amendments, both in agricultural and forest systems.
However, this application must be made through proper monitoring of its influence on the soil-water-plant for environmental sustainability.
On the other hand, there are different options and treatment technologies for these products swine is considered necessary.
There are also numerous manure storage ponds that can be point or diffuse pollution, which is necessary to evaluate impact.
The course will develop in the auditorium of the Santa Quiteria Trade Fair Ground.
Angel Face has indicated, on the other hand, a goal of this course is to make known the problems of manure generated, and possible technical solutions to environmental and agricultural implications in which they are currently working.
To this end it has a large team of teachers, researchers and professionals of recognized standing and experience, carrying out their professional activities in relation to the theme of the course.
The course is really interesting for students in degree programs related to these agricultural and environmental aspects such as the Agricultural Engineers, Agricultural Engineers, Bachelor of Environmental Science, biologists, veterinarians, geographers, chemists, technicians in public works, hydrology, Geologists , etc. as well as for agricultural professionals and students of the School of Agricultural Foremen Lorca.
