The Socialist Councillor Isabel Casalduero deeply regrets the disappearance of Espirelia, which he defined as "a cultural standard that had become one of the hallmarks of Lorca in recent years."
The PSOE mayor said he did not understand the decision of the Mayor, Francisco Jodar suppress the festival when "the president of the national PP has acknowledged that, in times of crisis, investing in culture is synonymous with wealth creation."
Jódar Casalduero lambasting that condemn the tourism and hospitality sectors of the municipality, for which at the height of summer, Espirelia meant a great economic salutary.
He also criticized this decision, a careful study of the "mediocrity" that has marked the administration's first mayor in culture since he took office.
