The general director of Quality and Environmental Assessment, Encarnacion Molina, presented the European certificate of environmental audit EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) to the hospital Virgen del Alcázar de Lorca this morning.
Molina explained that "EMAS is unsistema Environmental (EMS) Management helps companies manage and improve their environmental performance."
This program allows voluntary participation of all companies and organizations wishing to commit themselves to evaluate, manage and improve their environmental work, helping to reduce the environmental impacts that its activity causes and promoting eco-innovation in their production processes or services.
In the region there are already 26 companies and organizations with this distinction.
To obtain this certificate, interested companies apply for membership in the registry at the General Directorate of Quality and Environmental Assessment, which is the body responsible for registration in the European register EMAS, managed by the European Commission.
