The PSOE Councillor David Romera has unveiled the urban regeneration project of Avenida Juan Carlos I prepared by the Municipal Socialist Group, and that will be incorporated with the rest of neighborhood and professional contributions that are resulting from the process of citizen participation, open thanks to a motion by the PSOE in the February plenary session.
In this sense, the socialist mayor regrets that this process has not been launched prior to address urban regeneration projects undertaken in recent years in other important areas of the city.
However, since the PSOE they show their satisfaction "for having rectify in time the government team and force them to develop this ambitious process of citizen participation."
David Romera has presented his project based on four major areas of action with an extensive battery of proposals in this regard to make, along with the neighborhood and professional demands, a project, he ensures "unique and iconic to revitalize the commercial fabric of the Avenida Juan Carlos I, greatly weakened in recent years, and to improve the quality of life of residents and, by extension, all Lorca, then remember that this is the great artery of Lorca ".
With its proposal, from the PSOE aim to provide "workable solutions" to create a "new urban image of the main artery of the city. In addition, David Romera says that the project to launch" should create an innovative and unique image which highlight the central role of Avenida Juan Carlos I taken advantage of its strategic location and providing it as a modern and cosmopolitan avenue, lined with large buildings of an identity ", constituting it as one of the streets" more modern and attractive of the Region Murcia".
As has detailed the socialist mayor, the socialist proposal is based on four main areas of action: the relaunch of the commercial fabric;
improving circulation and functionality;
the renewal of the urban aesthetic;
and the provision of new and improved urban services for the Avenue.
Among the proposals contained in a large dossier provided by the socialist mayor is the construction of large deterrents underground car parks in the vicinity of Avenida Juan Carlos I to favor the parking lot, "controlled semipeatonalización" with the closure of Avenue on Sundays and holidays in the morning;
or construction of a large underground tunnel to channel existing and future installations and wiring today.
Also, since the PSOE provide recommendations and battery aspects to consider to face "with guarantees of security and accessibility" execution of works.
To do this, they warn in his dossier that perform a phased rollout "not to delay the execution times and reduce as much as possible the inconvenience to residents and businesses, as well as the development of the career of Easter".
In this sense, they warn remain "scrupulously vigilant that the deadlines are met and guaranteed by the company in charge of the works, a safe and permanent access to both homes as garages and shops except force majeure" .
In addition, they propose the development of an advertising campaign in support of business, for businesses to recoup the decline in sales may suffer because of the works.
