The President of Paso Blue, José María Miñarro, has been responsible for opening the collective public reading of "Don Quixote" that started at 10 am in the Cloister of MASS and runs until 22 hours.
With this initiative the Paso Blue Foundation celebrates World Book Day, within the program being developed to disseminate the work of Miguel de Cervantes on the 400th anniversary of his death.
After "Somewhere in La Mancha ..." and the first words of the great work of Cervantes read by Miñarro, the first Deputy Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, and the secretary general of PSRM, Rafael González Tovar, have advanced reading.
The President of the Paso Azul Foundation, Andres Espinosa, aldermen Agustin Llamas, Juan Francisco Martinez, Diego José Mateos and Isabel Casalduero, the President of the Community of Irrigators, Juan Marín, and the Director of MASS, Joaquín Bastida have been some of the first readers.
Journalists, students of different cultural groups in Lorca schools in the municipalities and have gathered in the morning at the Cloister of MASS to participate in what will be reading more of "Don Quixote" ever made in the city.
Until 22 pm all interested can approach the MASS and read a fragment of the work carried out by the Knight of La Mancha, participating in such an enriching and original activity.
The cycle "Cervantes in the MASS" began on Thursday evening with the opening of the exhibition "embroidering some device in gold thread for this her captive knight", a literature-themed exhibition on the fourth centenary of Cervantes in which they may provide for different copies of the most important works of the Manco de Lepanto and montages with images and outstanding phrases of "Don Quixote".
The programming is complemented by three lectures on Cervantes and his top work.
On Monday April 25 the writer and professor Pedro Felipe Sánchez-Granados will present his paper "The humor in Don Quixote".
On Thursday 28 Quiñonero Professor Jose Hernandez will speak on "Women in Don Quixote".
The cycle on Friday, April 29th will close with the presentation "Cervantes and Italy" by Francisco Javier García Melenchón.
The three will be held at the Faculty of Mass at 20.30.
