The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General of Roads of the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure of the Autonomous Community, Jose Antonio Fernandez, met yesterday with the neighbors of the council of Rio and the entrance of Lorca on Highway Caravaca to present projects Lorca City Council and the Regional Government will begin in the coming months in this area, valued at 1,026,810 euros.
Jodar and Fernandez presented together with technicians and Councilman Works Consistory, Eulalia Ibarra, the proposal to remodel the entrance to Lorca from the roundabout on the road Zarzadilla of Totana to the connection with the street Eulogio Periago and San Fernando San Cristobal district, as well as improving the stretch of Old Highway Swamp running from that intersection to the ship Paso Incarnate.
This investment is a regional disbursement of over 936,000 euros.
The City of Lorca and the Regional Government raised two options neighbors in order to receive their opinions and suggestions.
In both cases envisaged in the first part of the performance, which is not becoming to urban roundabouts exit to the A7, improving the aforementioned roundabouts and roadsides, but also the improvement of road signs.
The rest of the work will include the adaptation of the road as urban by building a new roundabout at the intersection of company facilities Olcina and another in La Penica (to be held with the work of street improvement Eulogio Periago and adjacent) and creating a bike path, the rearrangement of the car parks, increasing trees and other vegetation, along with the expansion of sidewalks in those sections where the new design permits and improving signage vial.
The project will also include changing the public lighting system in order to improve energy efficiency lighting with LED technology.

The mayor explained that "the result of ongoing dialogue that the Municipal Government maintains with neighbors and the close collaboration of the Ministry of Public Works, the City will carry out improvement works River Road, Camino Carretas and Union Street in the same council of Rio, to be funded with 90,810 euros that the Regional Government has contributed to the municipal coffers to improve the interconnection of rural communities ".
