The Governing Council has given the green light to the mixed works contract for the drafting and execution of works for urban renewal in the neighborhood of Health-Cristo Rey in the town of Lorca, with a total budget of 3,126,458 euros .
This action of the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure aims at the implementation of the rehabilitation and renovation of roads, public spaces, educational dotacionales areas, green areas and infrastructure of urban services of that neighborhood, one of those affected by the earthquakes of May 11, 2011.
The remodeling is included in one of the agreements signed by the regional government and the city of Lorca for the reconstruction of the city and has an execution period of 12 months.
The project will be funded by the Community under the contracted with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the recovery of the city loan.
The work will focus on three axes, one green, which prevail endowment areas with trees, and two other complementary intended for commercial and recreational activities, which include dynamizing actions of the social activity of the neighborhood with the execution of a local classroom / culture, the implementation of children's play areas and another for the elderly, among others.
will be given special importance to the renewal of all existing service networks in the neighborhood, the pedestrian road, accessibility, installing services with innovative approaches to energy efficiency and sustainability and walking and cycling.
the renewal of urban infrastructure such as potable water, sanitation and stormwater, power lines, lighting, telecommunications, energy and improving urban services will also be promoted.
Also, the renovation of residential connections, the burial of municipal waste containers and the installation of a geographic information system of the new infrastructure is expected executed.
