Worship Peñas, Councilman IU-Greens lamented that nearly a dozen copies of pine trees have dried due to lack of irrigation.
To Peñas, this situation reflects sloppiness on the part of the government team in regard to environmental protection and forest mass of the municipality as has been seen in recent years since the fanatical obsession of PP by cutting trees is ravaging the city.
For the mayor, if it is true that occasionally plantations new copies are made, the environmental policy pursued by the competent council is not adequate, there are numerous examples of this, starting with the indiscriminate felling of trees in different parts of the city, following the lack of "green" criteria in recent refurbishment of the city or with cases of drought specimens due to lack of irrigation and maintenance.
A few weeks ago this municipal group denounced this same situation with old pine trees located on the old road of Eagles.
On this occasion, from IU-Green he has insisted that the lack of municipal interest is leading to neglect and extinction of the green mass of our municipality, despite its importance for her not only aesthetic function, but green lung in a municipality with very high rates of contamination.
Peñas has stated that the solution to these few copies of pinyon pines, not a very common variety in Lorca, which have dried in the area of Pylons (a singular spot from the point of natural, social and even cultural terms) would replace for new copies and use water drip irrigation is being put in the area thanks to the work done by the Club Sendero La Carrasca in restocking in the surrounding area, expanding irrigation to other pines that are in that environment.
Thus, from IU-Greens are demanding greater vigilance again to the forest mass of the municipality, replacing the specimens to dry, making drip irrigation to prevent more trees to dry.
