The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, and the president of the Chorus and Dance "Virgen de las Huertas" Mari Huertas Garcia, presented the XXVII International Folklore Festival "Virgen de las Huertas" which as has been usually held in our city for the festivities in honor of the Virgen de las Huertas, Patron of Lorca.
In this sense, the mayor explained that "this twenty-seventh edition of the festival, to be held on 7 and 8 September, you can enjoy folk groups from Indonesia, Colombia and Paraguay, plus the Band of Pipers Lorca and Songs and Dances Virgen de las Huertas. Among them spend more than 100 people around the stage ready for the occasion. "
The events will begin on Wednesday, September 7 at 10:30 am with a parade of the participating groups from the Visitor Center of La Merced to the palace of Guevara through the street Cava, Plaza of Spain Alamo Street.
Immediately afterwards, there will be the reception of the groups mentioned in the Palace of Guevara, which will be followed by a performance of the same by the Corredera street.
That same day, but already in the afternoon, at 19 h., It will open at the Neighborhood Association of the Virgen de las Huertas exhibition of photographs I Photo Contest International Folklore Festival "Virgen de las Huertas" held last year.
Shortly thereafter, in the Plaza del Rey Sabio, will be the first sign of the festival from 22:15 hours, in which each group will offer a small performance that will continue after the Fair girl to enliven the atmosphere.
The next day participants are expected to make a visit to the city and the Fortaleza del Sol, an act that will give way to one of the novelties of this year.

II Photography Contest
Since the previous edition, Songs and Dances "Virgen de las Huertas" launches a photo contest, consisting portray the best possible acts carried out during the festival.
In this way, the winning photo becomes the image of the poster for the festival next year.
