Area Regeneration and Urban Renewal Lorca will improve 535 homes, with the rehabilitation of 335 homes and 200 other buildings

The Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure and the City Council have extended the regeneration and renewal of the center of Lorca, allowing the reconstruction of 126 new homes that have been or will be demolished as a result of damage sustained after the earthquakes of 2011 and have been unable to access aid for reconstruction so far.

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, Undersecretary of Development, Mario Garcés, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, initialed today the addendum to the agreement of the bilateral commission Area Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU) of Lorca, Framed within the current Housing Plan.

Improvement of 535 homes

The addendum allows to extend the reconstruction of 126 new homes, adding to the 74 that originally collected the agreement, which involves the construction of 200 houses previously demolished in the city of Lorca, specifically in the neighborhood of San Cristobal and other buildings affected by earthquakes.

The Community and pulled out a call for aid for reconstruction, which has been resolved with the granting of 1,017,784 euros to rebuild 64 homes in Lorca, earrings and leaving ten houses to be included in the next call for aid to be published during the month of September.

In addition, the deadline for completion of works is extended until 31 December 2017, in order that citizens of the municipality to complete the reconstruction or rehabilitation of your home.

As for rehabilitation, the Ministry of Public Works is working on the resolution of the call for aid for housing rehabilitation, which includes 335 performances.
