The regional government has authorized a third addendum to the agreement between the Community, through the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, and the city of Lorca, which aims to extend the deadline for the granting of aid for the repair and reconstruction of houses in Lorca affected by the damage caused by earthquakes in 2011.

Lorca families can receive up to 31 December 2018 the aid approved in the Joint Commission for the reconstruction of their homes, which suffered severe structural damage and whose reconstruction has been delayed for various reasons, such as the declaration process technical ruin or buildings or economic difficulties agreement between owners and those with the Insurance Compensation Consortium.

Once approved, the aid granted prior to this a subsidy of 50 percent of total reconstruction project, which will be paid to the beneficiary by the Official Credit Institute (ICO).

After execution of 50 percent of the work, a second payment amounting to 25 percent of the Mixed Commission approved budget and the rest will be paid upon completion of the works will be awarded.

The deadline for the works is two years from the effective recovery of aid.

The Joint Commission expects that the first payment of the last approved aid is made before the end of this year and in the event that the owners exhaust the deadline of the works, the latest grant will occur at the end of 2018.
