From 13 to November 27 local, regional and national groups will delight the audience with antique pieces as important as the Huelgas Codex, Cantigas of Alfonso X or Llibre Vermell.
All performances will be free until all seats
The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, and president of the Heritage Music Association and Friends of Music of Lorca, Antonio Manzanera, today presented the IV Festival of Early Music and Baroque Lorca, to be held in buildings emblematic of the city during the month of November with six concerts in which act local, regional and national groups, three lectures and a course in Gregorian chant.
Specifically, this program includes Gregorian, Renaissance and Baroque music.
In addition, the fourth edition of the Festival includes important developments such as the incorporation of the Sanctuary of the Virgen de las Huertas and the Garden Ruano, new spaces to value the historical monuments of the city;
performing six concerts and three conferences as well as a course of only Gregorian chant in the Region of Murcia.
Furthermore, this event was first presented in Murcia at the International Music Fair Antigua (FEIMA).
The first concert will take place on Sunday November 13 at the Church of Santa Ana and Santa Magdalena - Clares from 19:00 hours and will intervene countertenor Pedro Andrés Pérez and Alberto Gómez key in a concert entitled "Lieti Boschi" .
On Thursday November 17 will be held at the Church of San Francisco concert organ and bassoon by Javier Artigas and Fernando Sanchez.
On Friday 18 will be held in the Church of Santo Domingo concert "Lagrime d'Amate" Madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, La Cantoria, by director Jorge Losana.
On Saturday 19 November at the Church of San Francisco will be held the "O Clarissimma Mater; Monjas composers" concert Demúsica Emsemble group led by Maria Angeles Zapata.Estos three concerts will be held from 20:30.
Similarly, the spectators, who may attend all the concerts for free until full capacity, will hear the Santuario Virgen de las Huertas on Friday 25 at 20:30 Almeribrass Ensemble concert entitled "Pure Metal. A Glance to Europe "by Antonio Sanchez.
On Saturday November 26 in the same temple at 20:30 the group consisting Axivil Diego Blazquez, Canto and Felipe Sanchez Mascuñano and plucked strings (Penola vihuela and lute) will perform the pieces Huelgas Codex, Cantigas of Alfonso X Llibre Vermell and in the concert "La Virgen Gothic".
As for the conference, on Wednesday November 16 at 19:00 the Garden Ruano host the conference "La Seconda Pratica Claudio Monteverdi" by Jorge Losana, Director of the Choir and Orchestra of Murcia University, who will try on the evolution of Madrigal and the birth of the Ópera.El Monday 21 in the same place at 20:30 hours it will be held by Pedro Sanchez Moreno, researcher and folklorist, the conference "guitar through history ".
Finally, on Sunday November 27 will be held from 10:00 am Conference "The Gregorian chant and its influence on Western music" by Professor of the specialty of History and Science of Music at the University of Granada and director of the Schola Gregoriana Hispana, Francisco Javier Lara Lara, in the Patronal Sanctuary.
Within the festival particularly it emphasizes the completion of a course of Gregorian chant entitled "Canto Gregoriano, Today" to be held on 25, 26 and 27 November and will be taught by Juan Torres Duran, a component of the Gregorian Schola of Murcia.
In addition, the closing of the course will consist of a Gregorian Mass sung on Sunday 27 at 12:30 pm in the Sanctuary of the Virgen de las Huertas.
This Festival of Early Music in Lorca, which is already consolidated in our city, aims among other things, to present live Lorca and visitors ancient and baroque music using monumental and historical spaces, rescue and publicize works of Lorca authors or related Lorca and culturally boost, especially the old center of our city.
