The poor forecast of the Family Counseling to cover the retirement of the health staff maintains since last November 19 the 98 users of the Residence Domingo Sastre without the only geriatrician they counted.
A serious deficiency that is causing the saturation of the rest of the personnel and a serious disorder to the state of health of the majors that reside there
The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has denounced the serious shortage of medical staff in the Residence Domingo Sastre de Lorca, dependent on the Institute Murcian Social Care (IMAS).
Since November 19, the almost 100 users of this residence have suffered the consequences of the absence of the only geriatric doctor they have, due to the unfortunate planning of the Ministry of Health to cover the substitutions for retirement.
Andrea Periago said that this poor planning is translating into a "very precarious" quality of care for the elderly of this institution, because the lack of medical personnel "daily causes serious problems not only for the users themselves, but also for the rest of the Personnel, forced to double efforts to try to alleviate those deficiencies that the Family Counseling and IMAS are unable to cover.
According to the socialist councilor, the only geriatric doctor with the 98 users of this residence was retired last November 19, date from which they are unable to receive the necessary medical care, since the Ministry of Family has not yet covered this drop.
In this sense, Andrea Periago insists on "worrying neglect" as well as "little foresight" before a retirement "well known by the Ministry."
Periago insists that this "irresponsibility" on the part of the Ministry "directly affects the health of the elderly, because it keeps them unmonitored medically, and forces them to have to move to the Hospital Rafael Mendez to be able to perceive the attention that they do not receive in The center in which they reside, with the consequent discomfort and discomfort that this displacement causes on the delicate state of health in which many of them are found.
Since the PSOE have immediately taken letters in the matter, and already work, in the first place, so that the Family Counseling respond immediately to these serious deficiencies of medical staff in the Residence Domingo Sastre and, most importantly, to achieve that in the In a shorter period of time these residents can finally count on their geriatric doctor.
In this sense, Regional Representative Isabel Casalduero recently registered a question in the Regional Assembly with which they will force the Family Counselor to respond to this serious situation and, in this way, recognize a serious problem that must be addressed, Insists, "the quality of care of these institutionalized majors is at stake."
