Urgent call of the PSOE to Public Administrations and private owners, to give a definitive solution to the dozens of façades and buildings of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in ruin, to promote its consolidation and restoration, and thus to stop the high risk of disappearance of Heritage and Danger of landslides on the road
The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, David Romera has once again demanded the start of urgent actions, among others, the rapid approval of the new PEPRI, "to save from ruin and disappearance the facades of the 14 buildings converted to solar after the earthquakes Of 2011, of historical and artistic interest, as well as the rest of historic Lorca buildings in ruins, which are suffering a rapid degradation to be exposed for years to rain, wind and temperature changes without any maintenance.
Romera says that the "dangerous state they present" could lead to an "irreversible ruin" as is happening with the façades that will be integrated into the future Palace of Justice of Selgas Street and whose detachments have made the Ministry of Justice call the Attention on three occasions to the municipal authorities to give a temporary solution to this problem ".
The Socialist Edil also wanted to refer to the historic buildings that have had to be cordoned off for the last few days, and whose situation of "public danger" has returned to news, today in the press.
The erosive action of the precipitations that occurred in the municipality in the last days has caused the detachment of elements of facades;
In particular, David Romera has referred to the public danger of landslides evidenced by several buildings in the streets Fernando el Santo and Núñez de Arce, among which stand out the well-known House of the Clock.
It insists on the danger of disappearance of these buildings, dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, so it has called for both public administrations and private owners of said lots "to work together for the reconstruction And rehabilitation of these buildings, bringing together general and private interests, which will be a definite boost for the recovery of the monumental area.
Otherwise, "we will be talking about a real problem of public order," he says.
Romera once again argues that the Historic Quarter of Lorca, declared in 1964 Joint Historic-Artistic, "is in a critical situation and in a clear disappearance, you just have to walk through its streets and squares to check it."
He added that "it is an architecturally degraded space, with empty and obsolete areas, without services, without commercial establishments, with a high degree of depopulation and with ruinous urban spaces and fossilized architecture" and recalled that the new PEPRI "is an indispensable document To set in motion the bases of the future Strategic Plan for the Recovery of the Historical Center of Lorca, "which was unanimously approved at the Extraordinary Plenary proposed by the Socialist Group and for which a specific Sectoral Council will also be constituted.
Regarding the content of the new PEPRI, David Romera was "prudent" to not know in depth its guidelines.
The Edil has expressed its concern, because "the flexibility that brings the new PEPRI and the degradation in the level of protection of many properties," according to the councilors of the PP, suppose a new setback, return the pick as he did The earthquakes of 2011 and disappear more monumental buildings or disturb the aesthetics of emblematic urban spaces.
