They propose that Social Services, through the Statistics Services, provide the City of Lorca with more tools, analysis and studies to know in a "real and direct" the situation of groups and families at risk of social exclusion and thus, guarantee a Redistribution of Social Services as fair and equitable as possible
The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has announced that the Socialist Group will soon propose in the municipal plenary the elaboration of a map of poverty so that the consistory, through Social Services, is provided with more tools to combat "With greater certainty and efficiency the greater and serious inequalities that exist in districts and districts of Lorca."
Andrea Periago has referred to the concern that the Socialist Party maintains for the situation that many Lorca families are experiencing, "not only in these times where it seems that the sensitivity and solidarity towards these groups seems to be accentuated, but throughout the year" As he says "we speak of authentic dramas, those who live in their daily lives too many people, families, and Lorca groups at risk of social exclusion."
The Edil socialist has warned that "there are no indicators on the harsh reality that many families in our town, both in the city and in districts."
In this sense, Andrea Periago has recalled not only the overflow of work that have entities such as Caritas Lorca or Red Cross, but studies such as the AIS Group that, through data from the National Institute of Statistics, revealed a few months ago that Lorca Is one of the three large Spanish municipalities with the highest poverty rates (38.4% of the population).
Also, recently, the Tax Agency revealed that the municipality is in per capita income levels "much lower" to the regional and national average.
Conscious of this situation, from the PSOE insist on claiming "greater budgetary allocation in Social Services to alleviate these inequalities", and at the same time, propose measures, such as the elaboration of this map of poverty "to prioritize actions towards those areas with Higher poverty rates, and thereby ensure a fairer and more equitable distribution of these resources. "
According to the councilor of the PSOE, this map must be an "internal document" that serves to "reorient the distribution of resources in Social Services."
To this end, they propose the elaboration of a "thorough study by the Statistics Services, who should be responsible for carrying out periodic analyzes of the socio-economic situation of the population, so that, based on them, Possible adjustments in the design and implementation of these public resources policies aimed at alleviating inequalities. "
Cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, or recently Murcia, are already developing such tools with which municipalities "can know in a real, close and direct way the situation of these groups at risk of exclusion and can have the necessary tools to design Policies as fair and effective as possible. "
