Sánchez Jódar says that works in every health center exponentially increase the risk of bacterial growth that can lead to hospital infections.
In this regard, they denounce the endless delays and systematic breach of deadlines announced for the expansion works of the surgical area of the Hospital Rafael Méndez de Lorca that confirm "the little respect that the PP politicians in charge of managing the Health have towards the citizens Of area III of health ".
The Vice-spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has denounced this morning "the lack of rigor, seriousness and respect" on the part of the Regional Government of the Popular Party and, specifically, the Ministry of Health when it comes to offering Declarations and, above all, to manage the execution of the works at the Hospital Rafael Méndez de Lorca, which says "look like those of the monastery of the Escorial", alluding to the accumulation of "years of delay".
Sánchez Jódar has based this complaint based on a chronological analysis with which has demonstrated the "systematic breach" and the "lack of rigor" of those responsible for the Popular Party in selling the future expansion of the surgical area and the area of wards Of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hospital Rafael Méndez de Lorca.
In this sense, the Socialist mayor has stated that "the constant and repeated breaches in talking about the deadlines for carrying out these important works constitute a genuine lack of respect on the part of PP politicians responsible for managing health, towards citizens Of the different municipalities that comprise the health area III ".
Marisol Sanchez recalled that the Popular Party "has been selling the same song to expand these areas of Rafael Méndez since the end of 2013."
In December of that year, the then Regional Council of Government announced the beginning of works that, with an execution term of 18 months, would be finished by the middle of 2015. Motivated by the first delays, these works were announced again In October 2014, when the month of June 2016 was anticipated as the month in which these works would be completed.
"The lack of rigor and seriousness in making forecasts about the deadlines for execution and completion of these works were not there," recalled the Socialist mayor.
In February 2015, according to press reports, the then Health Minister, currently reinstated as Area III Health Manager, Catalina Lorenzo assured that "by the summer of 2016, we would have a completely renovated and expanded hospital" .
An assertion in which he returned to insist just months later, in a new announcement made in June 2015.
However, "new mistakes in the planning and execution of these works," according to the Socialist mayor stressed that, once again, the Ministry sell "new deadlines with which they even contradict their own initial estimates."
With the new forecasts now made by the Ministry of Health and the management of area III, they announce that these works could be completed between the first quarter of 2017 or even next May.
In view of this black history, Sánchez says that "bets are admitted for the next deadlines that may be announced in the future, insofar as the PP continues to breach its commitments."
For all this, Sánchez Jódar has demanded to the Health "rigor, seriousness, professionalism and respect" for the citizens of area III when it comes to speaking and managing the execution deadlines of works whose execution, he warns, "continuously Check the conditions of health and hygiene in which patients are attended and intervened daily ".
In this sense, the Socialist mayor has recalled that the works in every health center represent an "exponential increase in the risk of proliferation of all types of bacteria, and at the same time, that lead to contraction of hospital infections."
"Without regional investment for new health personnel in area III the serious problems that the area III of health is not solved"
Sánchez Jódar has taken to denounce "systematic rejection of each and every one of the amendments that the PSOE presented to the regional budgets to achieve improvements in Health for the year 2017 in the area III of health.
By voting against PP and Citizens, Health will not invest "not a single euro" to solve the serious problems that Lorca has been dragging for years in healthcare.
"Zero euros for the new health center in San Cristobal, zero euros for the Oncology service in Rafael Méndez, zero euros for a second Emergency Service in Lorca, zero euros to install a Point of Continuous Care in San Diego, zero euros For the reopening of the medical consultations of Primary Care in the afternoon, and zero euros for the maintenance of 24-hour Emergency in La Parroquia.
"Zero euros" has also denounced to hire new health personnel.
Specifically, Sánchez Jódar has said that "it will not be useful to have new sanitary facilities in relation to the next expansion of the surgical area and rooms of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Rafael Méndez - if there has been budgeted not a single euro to hire new health personnel".
Therefore, he says "without a new person, 2017 will continue to be a year of overcrowding of appointments, saturation of ER and endless waiting lists in area III of health."
