The reduction, in particular, is derived from the reduction of the sewerage quota to a total of 26,733 customers, and from the fixed quota to another 10,129.
This benefit materializes in an average reduction of 5.23%.
The joint economic saving for all citizens amounts to € 723,000.
This fall complies with one of the priority lines of action by the Consistory, as it is to deepen the decrease in taxes, and has been achieved now thanks to the improvement of the municipal economic situation and savings in investment and modernization Of lines that are assuming the works of urban renewal that are being carried out in different enclaves of our city.
This is a very good news for all, the best way to start the year, since it will benefit both Lorca who have water supply in areas with sewage (a total of 10,129), and residents in the urban area (24,296 clients) and in the orchard areas with sewage (which represents 2,437 contracts).
The general distribution of this drop in the water bill is as follows:
In the urban area, which accounts for 65.32% of the supply contracts, citizens will benefit from a 9.5% reduction in the sewerage rate, which is equivalent to an annual reduction of € 40.69 Euros in an average receipt (consumption of 40 m3).
The 10,129 families in the orchard areas that do not have sewerage, which equals 27.23% of the total, will also see their receipts reduced by an average of 12 euros per year, thanks to the establishment of a monthly decrease in their fixed quota.
The reduction in the orchard areas that have a sewage network will reach € 19.38 in the most common receipts.
This area covers 6.55% of the total number of users, corresponding to 2,437 receipts.
In this case a reduction of 5 points in the sewerage rate is applied, which results in the cut of the receipt as a whole.
This lowering of the receipt is in addition to other supports with which they are compatible, as is the case of the 50% reduction in the general rate for retirees and pensioners whose pension does not reach the interprofessional minimum wage, as well as for disabled people with a higher handicap To 33% and whose family unit has perceptions lower than the interprofessional minimum wage.
They are also compatible with the 50% bonus on the fixed fee and the application of the tariff of the consumption block immediately below the variable quota to large families.
It should be remembered that the City Council and Aguas de Lorca offer a Social Water Grant worth € 350,000 to help families at risk of social exclusion to pay their water bills.
