The lectures to be held on 27 and 28 January at the Cultural Center will be given by José Miguel Parra Ortiz;

The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, and the president of the Association of Friends of the Egyptology of Lorca, Antonio Páez, presented this morning the IX Conference of Egyptology to be held at the Cultural Center of the city next 27 and 28 January, and that this year are centered on the figure of Pharaoh Tutankhamón with the aim of making this historical character known to all citizens.
The lectures, organized by this association, will begin on January 27 at 7:30 pm with the presentation "Tutankhamón: Historical Notes" by José Miguel Parra Ortiz, Doctor of Ancient History, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with a Theses on the Egyptian pyramids.
José Miguel Parra is a specialist in the pharaonic world, on which he has published several monographs, besides being an outstanding lecturer who collaborates in radio and television.
The following paper, "Howard Carter, in the footsteps of Tutankhamen," will also take place on Friday from 8:30 p.m. and will be led by Nacho Ares, a graduate in Ancient History from the University of Valladolid and certified in Egyptology at The KNH of the University of Manchester.
He is the author of several books dedicated to the Egyptian culture, was for a decade director of the Journal of Archeology and is currently director of the program SER History in Cadena SER and reporter of Cuarto Mileno (Cuatro TV).
Saturday's day will begin at 11:30 am with the lecture "Pictures and objects from the tomb of Tutankhamen" by the speaker María Rosa Valdesogo Martín, graduated in Ancient History by the University of Barcelona, ​​where she also obtained a master's degree in Egyptology.
In the year 2000, after a stay of investigation in the Poul Valéry University of Montpellier, doctorate in Egyptology by University of Barcelona.
Until 2008 he has been a teacher in the postgraduate and master's degree of Egyptology at this university, where he has taught Egyptian History and Art.
The conference will end with a roundtable discussion where "New Findings" will be debated and in which the three speakers will participate from 12:30 a.m. María Rosa Valdesogo Martín, Nacho Ares and José Miguel Parra Ortiz.
