The Ministry of Education and Universities has awarded the works of urbanization and refurbishment of the environment of the institutes José Ibáñez Martín and Francisco Ros Giner of the municipality of Lorca, with a maximum execution period of nine months and a budget of more than 845,000 euros.
Both centers will have a new patio that can be used in different ways depending on their academic and sports needs.
The playground or meeting place is designed in an agora format, created with stands and surrounded by trees, adjacent to the southeast facade of the Instituto Ibáñez Martín.
Much of this new open space is intended for sports use, where physical activities can be performed.
Specifically, four sports courts have been designed, some of which have steps.
In addition, two locker rooms, each with a capacity of 30 people and a constructed area of ​​almost 200 square meters, are planned for use by each of the two institutes autonomously and include dependencies for use as a seminar of Physical education.
As a complement to the sporting use, in these two Lorca institutes a course or circuit of cross of a length of 527 meters, that runs between all the existing pieces in the school enclosure, and a track for race of speed of 50 meters.
Within the site will also be built an area for car parks, motorcycles and bicycles, reserved for teachers, as well as another parking area for two-wheeled vehicles for students.
The Director General of Educational Centers, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, indicated that "with these works the overall investment made by the Community in these two institutes amounts to 8.2 million euros."
