The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has once again shown the concern of the Municipal Socialist Group, in view of the state of the Sanctuary of the Patroness of Lorca after recent restoration works.

The recent rains in the municipality during the last few weeks have served to expose new damages, especially in the form of cracks and appearance of humid areas in some of the restored areas, while aggravating other deteriorations that, for reasons that PSOE are unaware, "were not contemplated in the initial project for its restoration."

Therefore, the Socialist Municipal Group will take advantage of the next regular plenary session to claim the settlement of these damages, so that soon "Lorca and visitors can enjoy this jewel of the cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia", remember, is cataloged As a Property of Cultural Interest, which "implies a high degree of protection and responsibilities to be demanded in case of deterioration."

Andrea Periago recalled that this is not the first time that the Socialist Group shows its interest in this matter in the Plenum of the City of Lorca.

Last September, the Socialists asked in plenary for the restoration project of the mural paintings of the antecamarín of the Sanctuary, for which there was a donation of 20,000 euros made by the English Court.

Given that the response, according to the PSOE, "was insufficient at the time," and given that months later "the restoration of this cycle of paintings has not been executed," the Socialist Municipal Group will again ask the team Of government of the Popular Party when he plans to restore the paintings of the Antecamarín taking advantage of that donation received in September 2015, as well as the rest of the restoration of the Sanctuary, still pending.
