The Plenary of the City Council initially approved the expropriation of the land needed to build an access from the RM-701, and BORM published the project for sections I, II and III of the new road linking Santa Maria with Ramblilla de San Lázaro.
The mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, has reported that the north road construction project continues to advance its complex administrative procedure, which is being developed in parallel with negotiations with owners of adjacent plots.
In fact in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) today there is the publication regarding the final approval of the project of expropriation of sections I and II by the joint appraisal procedure and the project of direct occupation of section III fe The lands that make up the General Road System SG-V5 of the LMAO PGMO in the stretch from the church of Santa Maria to the Ramblilla of San Lázaro.
This is an advance that adds to the initial approval made last Monday in the full City Council of the project of expropriation for joint assessment of the land needed for the execution of the roundabout to be enabled at the intersection of the road La Parroquia (RM-701) with access to the castle of Lorca that forms sections II and III of the general road system SGV-4 of the PGMO of our city
We are talking about investments that are going to radically improve the communication of the high districts of our city.
It is a priority objective within the works of improvement of road infrastructure that we are implementing and promoting from the City Hall.
We can say that together with the construction of the central round, from the Apolonia neighborhood to the roundabout of the Águilas motorway, it is the most important communications project of all those that will be carried out in the urban area.
The Mayor has anticipated that this project, which will involve the investment of 3.5 million euros, is entailing a major joint challenge of pooling and analysis between the Consistory and the Ministry of Development.
The project envisages the construction of an exit and entrance vial to the Barrios Altos de Lorca (also called the northern round), and is spelled out in the PGMO.
This communication road has its origin in the street Ramblilla of San Lázaro and ends in the roundabout of Santa Maria, with a total length of 780 meters.
The width of the street is 10 meters until reaching the square of the Coronela, from which the width is reduced to 8.5 meters due to the need to build retaining walls in the space available between dwellings.
All works include by express indication of the Mayor of Lorca increase the safety of the rocky massif on which the castle sits, increasing the perimeter that already has the security mesh that offered an extraordinary result both in the earthquakes of 2011 and in the Floods of 2012 and recent storms that the municipality has registered.
Other actions that involve these investments are the rehabilitation of a sports court in Santa Maria and the construction of a children's zone.
It has also projected a viewpoint overlooking the city taking advantage of a rocky massif.
The investment contemplated is 3.56 million euros, to which must be added another 1.88 for the project to build a gazebo at the intersection of the La Parroquia road with the access road to the castle of Lorca.
