This is a joint program in which the City of Lorca, through the Department of Sports, and the Senderista Peña "La Carrasca", which begins its 2017 season on Sunday, will collaborate.
The Councilor for Sports in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, has reported that the program "Lorca a Pie" for this year proposes different routes to enjoy knowing multiple enclaves of interest of our municipality.
This initiative is set to carry out activities organized and aimed at the dissemination of activities in the natural environment such as hiking and mountaineering.
We are talking about spreading the practice of hiking between the population of the municipality of Lorca and those in the surrounding area.
Among the objectives of the program are to transmit the values ​​of respect for the Natural Environment as an essential element for the practice of hiking and mountaineering activities, as well as collaborate with different local and regional bodies to establish strategies for dissemination and promotion of hiking, and Know, respect and promote the natural and cultural values ​​of Lorca, the Region, or any other area where sports practice can take place.
Martínez Carrasco explained that the planned routes are as follows:
1st Route: Sierra de La Castellana - Xiquena Castle.
Total distance: 14 km.
Total duration: 4 hours.
Difficulty: Medium.
Short description: Route by the councils of Humbrías and Fontanares, in the extreme west of the municipal term and bordering with the Andalusian community.
We will cross the Sierra de la Castellana and finish at the foot of the picturesque Castillo de Xiquena.
2nd Route: Avilés - Lomas de Ciller.
Total distance: 13 km.
Total duration: 4h 30 '
Difficulty: Medium.
Short description: From the hamlet of Avilés we will make an excursion into the heart of the Sierra de Pedro Ponce through its ravines and around Lomas del Ciller from which we will enjoy the views towards the valley of the Aceniche and the high peaks of Rivazuelo and La Jungle.
3rd Route: Lomo de Bas.
Total distance: 14 km.
Total duration: 4 hours.
Difficulty: Medium
Short description: Impressive and panoramic route along the Lomo de Bas rope, between the Diputaciones de Ramonete and Garrobillo and on the border with the neighboring municipality of Águilas.
Magnificent views will be taken towards the Sierra de la Almenara and towards the entire coast of the municipality of Lorca.
4th Route: Urban nocturnal trekking.
Place and time of departure: Plaza de Calderón, 21:15 h.
Total distance: 8 km.
Total duration: 2h 30 '
Short description: Route that will take place along the town of Lorca, walking through charming streets and squares, enjoying the monumental richness of different monuments and stately homes.
All this accompanied by the light of the street lamps that will give a special touch to this nocturnal route.
5th Route: Hiking for children and families - Río Luchena
Total distance: 6 km.
Total duration: 2h 30 '
Difficulty: Easy
Brief description: On this route, children and families can discover a magical path on the edge of the Luchena river and cross a lush forest of riverside that many will surprise.
We will recreate the landscapes and the great mountains that make up the Giant - Morras - Pericay massif.
6th Route: Lorca Litoral
First stretch: Bolnuevo Calnegre tips.
Second section: Calnegre tips Cabo Cope.
Total distance: 13 + 15 km.
Total duration: 3h.30 '+ 4h.30' hours.
Difficulty: First Medium / Second Medium-high.
Brief description: From the famous eroded landscape of Bolnuevo (Puerto de Mazarrón) to Cabo Cope (Águilas), we will walk along beautiful trails and paths along the coast of the municipality of Lorca.
A tour divided into two days (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning) taking as a point of rest the cozy Municipal Hostel of Puntas de Calnegre.
It should be remembered that the price of the route is 6 € for non-federated.
In this case it will be mandatory to register and pay in person at the Sports House (Thursday before 19:00 H) in order to process your personal insurance.
They must provide name, surname, date of birth, ID, email and contact phone number.
The price for federated in mountain will be 3 €.
It will be compulsory to make your previous registration by email (deportes@lorca.es) or telephone (968-466130) and you can pay your corresponding fee on the same day of the route.
In these cases it will be mandatory to present the license together with the DNI on the day of the route.
