The Councilor for Water in the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca, has reported that the health and safety system implemented in the municipal water supply network by the Consistory and Aguas de Lorca has detected a higher than usual index of trihalomethanes in the Drinking water in the La Campana supply network.
Faced with this fact the City of Lorca asks for precaution to the residents of La Campana who refrain from using the water so much to drink until further notice.
It should be noted that this water can be used for other usual domestic uses (washing clothes, dishwashers, personal hygiene, ...)
Trihalomethanes are by-products of disinfection that are formed when chlorine is used as a disinfectant.
The City Council maintains a permanent watch to check the evolution of this element in drinking water.
Once corrected this incidence will be communicated to all the citizens through the habitual channels, remembering the indication to inform itself SOLO by official means, obviando any rumor on the matter.
