The City of Lorca has lamented that Mr. Antonio Mecca, again, is cast in demagogy seeking the leading role that common sense denies.
This Mr. maintains particular differences with suppliers of the City Council, for reasons beyond the knowledge of this Consistory.
These are attacks that moves in the form of obsessive criticism against these through the media.
Regarding the matter to which he referred today, it is worth explaining that, although he was not obliged to do so because of a lower expenditure, the City Council requested 2 budgets for the acquisition and delivery of various protocol material.
It consisted of 27 enamel silver medals (for each and every one of the members of the Municipal Corporation), 3 gold (Mayor and Illustrious or Adoptive Sons), and 35 protocol pins (for each and every one of the members of the Municipal Corporation).
We opted for the cheapest offer (€ 12,300 versus € 12,800).
It is a symbolic deference that all municipalities and public administrations offer their offices and Distinguished Children, an element whose true value lies in distinguishing those who work for their citizens.
These articles are delivered mainly at the inauguration of the respective Municipal Corporations (where a pi and a medal are delivered to each council member at the beginning of their term, regardless of whether or not to repeat their position) and the Honors and Distinctions Act Which is celebrated on the occasion of the patron saint of San Clemente.
