The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jódar, and the musician Carlos Piñana presented this morning the First International Narciso Yepes Guitar Festival, to be held in Lorca from March 4 to 11.
It is an event in which for 5 days the city will be the scene of concerts, recitals and other cultural activities with which Lorca will become a focus of attraction for music lovers and especially for guitar aficionados Spanish.
Francisco Jódar said that "next May 3 will be 20 years since the disappearance of the musical genius that was Narciso Yepes was a portentous interpreter, skilled, able to move with his interpretations, but also an innovator who was left Small traditional guitar so he had to invent the 10-string to share the musical compositions that popped in his head. We have a special memory in his homeland, where he has been honored over the years with a street, a school and a conservatory that are the faithful But we want to take advantage of the event to commemorate, remember and honor this unique man through his great passion: the guitar, but above all, we want the First International Festival of Narciso Yepes Guitar to become A festival of music with which Lorca, Murcia and fans of the whole national geography can enjoy in different spaces of this City of the Sun that so much loves culture.
Jódar, lastly, called on "guitar and music fans in general to take advantage of this opportunity.
