On the occasion of Women's Day, Socialist Youth Lorca (JSL) encourage Lorca society, especially youth, to participate in all mobilizations and events convened on the occasion of this commemorative day.
For young socialists, it is "vital" to defend, together and together, for a just and equal society.
From Socialist Youth Lorca have also taken advantage of to denounce the wage gap, which in Spain remains one of the highest in Europe, standing at 23.25%.
In the case of the Region of Murcia, one of the Autonomous Communities with greater wage gap between men and women, according to a recent UGT report "wage earners earn about 6,000 euros less annually than men."
This inequality in this area, they affirm "is given in all sectors, at all levels of employment, and in all aspects of remuneration (gross salary, extraordinary payments, value in kind and ordinary salary) as well as in the type of Day and contract ".
From the youth training, and in relation to the unemployment data in the municipality of Lorca, they also denounce that the lack of job opportunities is even more evident for the case of women.
Specifically, they report that 6 out of 10 unemployed Lorca are women, because out of the total of 5,543 unemployed in Lorca, 3,319 are women. At the youth level, it is also young women who find it more difficult to access a job , As 55% of young unemployed Lorca are women.
In this way, the socialist youths insist on the serious discrimination that is especially evident in the labor market, although they say "unfortunately, this is just one of the multiple discrimination that women suffer in all areas".
