The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment collaborates with the City Council of Lorca in the design of a municipal body for the processing of procedures for simplified strategic environmental assessment of urban planning instruments, whose competence has been attributed to municipalities of more than 50,000 inhabitants in Law 2/2017 of urgent measures for the reactivation of business activity, through liberalization and the elimination of bureaucratic burdens.
Representatives of the General Directorate of Quality and Environmental Assessment met this week with the Councilor for Urbanism and Environment, Saturnina Martínez, and the technical team in the urban planning area of ​​this Consistory, with the common objective of ensuring maximum agility and simplification In the procedures, both of simplified strategic environmental assessment and in the rest of those provided for in Law 21/2013, of environmental assessment.
The meeting was used to review the ongoing evaluation files and resolve the incidents, in order to ensure their prompt resolution.
During 2016, the Ministry has had 106 strategic Environmental Assessment files under investigation and since the beginning of 2017 nine new files have been initiated.
Of all of them, 12 strategic environmental assessment files correspond to plans of the municipality of Lorca.
This meeting is part of the strategy initiated by the General Directorate of Quality and Environmental Assessment to maintain this type of technical meetings with the municipalities that have attributed these competencies, as well as to establish days and work forums that contribute to the best application of these regulations At the regional level.
