Lorca Ibarra: "Lorca wants to grow in equality especially in rural areas. Through continuous collaboration we will be able to make the primary sector not only an economic engine, but also an area that gives impetus to equality policies."
The Councilor for Equality in the City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, along with the Director General of Women of the Council of Family and Equal Opportunities of CARM, Alicia Barquero, and the Association of Families and Women of the Rural Environment of the Region of Murcia (AFAMMER), participated in the day 'Implementation of the principle of equality in rural areas', which was held yesterday afternoon at the premises of the Center for Local Development of our city.
It is an event whose objective is to advance the dissemination of the manual of good practices to implement the principle of equality in rural areas, the text of which has been announced, being designed under the coordination of the General Directorate for Women, which collects Good practices for the implementation of the principle of equality between women and men and co-responsibility in rural enterprises in the Region of Murcia.
The Councilor for Equality, Lali Ibarra has stressed, in this sense, that Lorca is a regional and national reference in the primary sector thanks, to a large extent, the role of women residing in rural areas.
The woman has always worked with dedication in this environment.
But it has never been valued in the same sense as man.
While in other sectors it grew in equality, in the primary sector the same injustices continued to present until contemporary times.
Little steps have been taken to promote equality in this environment, but we must continue.
The Handbook of Best Practices for rural enterprises in our Region is a valuable tool for this purpose.
We believe that this is a great progress and we value it from Lorca because to fight against inequality we need to have all the possibilities and fight from all areas.
This resource is fundamental to continue building a more egalitarian society, a priority objective for public administrations, but also for society as a whole.
Ibarra López has stressed that Lorca wants to grow in equality and that the rural environment is not alien to this purpose.
I am convinced that through continuous collaboration we will be able to make the primary sector not only an economic engine, but also an area that gives impetus to equality policies.
The event was attended by Alicia Barquero, Director General of Women of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of CARM, Juana Aznar, PhD in Economics by the Faculty of Valencia, as well as the director of Human Resources and Organization of the Cattle company JISAP, José Ramón García Mateo.
