The First Edil has indicated that the second phase of the remodeling project of the Center of Specialties of Santa Rosa de Lima will entail an investment of 5.5 million.
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, along with the Minister of Health of CARM, Encarna Guillén, and the Councilor for Health in the city of our city, María del Carmen Ruiz, has supervised the progress of the reform and expansion of the General University Hospital Rafael Mendez de Lorca.
The Mayor has stated that the ongoing investments that have been carried out in our municipality in terms of health are getting Lorca to have more modern and effective infrastructure to meet the needs of citizens.
From the Town Hall we will continue to work in a coordinated manner with the Ministry of Health so that the projects we have underway, as well as the next improvement interventions, become a reality as soon as possible.
We are aware that in matters of social sensitivity such as health care, we must redouble our efforts so that Lorca has better services, a better equipped hospital and a network of health centers, clinics, emergency rooms and other facilities. Assists more effective, close and operative.
The work, which will involve the reform and expansion of the areas of Obstetrics and Surgical as well as the Units of Postanesthetic Resuscitation and Resuscitation, are going well, specifically, the execution rate is currently 95%, so, If no relevant contingencies arise, we are ready to announce that before the end of the year all these new services will be already operational.
These actions also involve the recruitment of about fifty professionals in the different categories, among nurses and nursing supervisors, midwives, auxiliaries, anesthesiologists, surgeons, gynecologists, traumatologists, physiotherapists and caretakers.
These professionals will be incorporated according to the needs of the services and the start-up of the new facilities, which will be operational in a staggered manner in the last semester of the year.
The work and equipment program foresees the start-up of the nursery for the month of July and the new operating rooms in the last quarter of the year, once the work and equipment have been completed.
The First Edil has emphasized the commitment in improvement and modernization of sanitary infrastructures that the Regional Government is doing to give more and better services to the Lorca.
It should also be remembered that the Government plans to invest a total of 15,071,537 euros to improve health care in this area of health in different actions.
Of these 15 million, 5,429,000, are for the second phase of the remodeling project of the Center of Specialties of Santa Rosa de Lima.
Advances in the location of land for the health center of San Cristóbal
The Mayor has also anticipated that the Consistory is progressing in locating the land needed for the Ministry of Health to build the new health center that will serve the neighbors and will be located in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal.
Francisco Jodar has reiterated that the location of this plot is a challenge for the Consistory, since the poor planning that the Local Administration had at the time is now reflected in the absence of municipal land, a mistake that is evidenced in a special way in the Urban center of our city.
In spite of this, and thanks to the joint work of several councils, progress has been made in this task.
In any case, and as a sign of our commitment to the neighbors of the area in question, when we are definitely in a position to report on the alternatives correctly reviewed, we proceed informally on the subject.
