The Councilor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, Satur Martínez, and the manager of Orbitalia, Juan Francisco Gómez, presented this morning the campaign "Grandes Superhéroes", a school initiative against climate change that aims to take care of the environment and the planet.
The School Climate Awareness Campaign promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and in our municipality organized by the Department of Environment, intends to provide cities with tools for Awareness of its population.
It is specially aimed at Primary Education students, which, in a simple and visual way, explains what they and their families can do to avoid contributing to climate change.
In the case of Lorca, there are 755 students from 11 different educational centers such as CEIP La Campana, CEIP Casa del Niño, CEIP Narciso Yepes, CEIP La Escucha, CEIP La Paca, CEIP La Torrecilla, CEIP Ramonete, Ciudad del Sol, CEIP Alfonso García, CEIP Almendricos and CEIP Ramonete.
The monitors in charge will give a total of 28 sessions to both students of primary and elementary children, and adapt the content at the level of schoolchildren.
Those responsible for transmitting all the messages of the educational campaign are two Superheroes who will try to make all children aware of the need to conserve the environment in general and the serious problem of climate change in particular.
The students will watch the video "The Great Superheroes against climate change" and a decalogue, and they will make coloring chips on ecoconsejos, games, soups of letters, activities related to the care of the environment and the recycling and will distribute material for them Take him home and they can comment on the work done in class to their families.
The main purpose is to show the students that they can also contribute to caring for the environment with the implementation of simple actions, which are included in the advice of the Super Heroes of the Campaign.
Specifically, and more specifically, its objectives are to contribute to the awareness of primary students about the importance of collaborating in the fight against climate change;
To teach, through recreational activities and adapted materials, concepts and behaviors related to the care of the environment;
Educate in respect, care and good use of the common environment and nature and promote values ​​and attitudes related to sustainability.
