The councilor of this formation, Gloria Martín, recalled that the new lines have not materialized to the Highlands, the southern councils, Almendricos, La Escucha and La Campana, the weekly markets of Purias and La Hoya nor the polygon From Saprelorca
The Councilor of the United Left-Greens in Lorca, Gloria Martín, regretted that, on reaching the equator of its current mandate, the PP municipal government team has not advanced "one millimeter" in its electoral promise to create lines Regular public transport links connecting the city with the districts of the municipality.
Martín recalled that the "literal" commitment of the PP, acquired with the neighbors through its electoral program for the municipal elections of 2015, included new lines to the residential complex 'Torre del Obispo', to the high districts or to the south.
In the latter case, with a service that would be reinforced in the summer to facilitate access to the beaches of the municipality.
The PP also assured that connections would be established with Almendricos, La Escucha and La Campana, "attending to the request of students residing in those councils that go to the educational centers of the city."
In addition, it announced that it would boost the traditional markets of the municipality by creating a direct line to Purias and La Hoya, which has not materialized.
Nor has it launched the line that should link the city with the polygons of Saprelorca and La Hoya to motivate workers to use public transport and relieve traffic generated on the A7.
The PP also committed to incorporate a new fleet of buses and to implement "smart stops" to inform users of expected arrival times, which has not yet fulfilled.
The Councilor of IU-Greens has warned that access to the city by the neighbors of districts is becoming "insufferable" because of works that congested the main arteries of the urban area and cause parking difficulties.
Something that could be avoided putting at the disposal of the inhabitants of these councils a service "comfortable, agile, cheap and effective".
And is that "with almost 1,700 km2 and 39 pedanias, it is incomprehensible that Lorca has only three lines of urban bus and intercity transport is practically non-existent," Martín complained.
The commitment to public transport "according to a city of the 21st century" would also avoid the concentration of harmful atmospheric agents in a municipality that, sadly, "holds the record for ozone pollution in Europe," Martín said.
In that sense, the mayor of IU-V criticized the "worrying passivity" of the local government in view of the urgent need to effectively solve this serious environmental and public health problem.
