The Municipal Citizens Group would like to show their support for the document presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca, which has been signed by numerous associations and institutions such as the Platform for Landscape Quality, Lorca Biciudad, the Federation of Lorca Women's Organizations, Grupo Scouts Ciudad del Sol, Acude or Ecologistas en Acción, in relation to the proposals for the remodeling project of Juan Carlos I Avenue.
These proposals are intended to provide ideas and suggestions for the benefit of citizens and the city, especially the contribution of the real unique platform and elimination of specific steps of pedestrians and traffic lights, creating a "street of coexistence", valuing the quality Of life above all else, forming an emblematic, modern and sustainable city, even for other cities, looking for a unique and well-kept image.
This historic city has to regain the dynamism and previous importance, attracting a permanent tourism, encouraging the small commerce, taking care of the environment and promoting citizenship among its citizens.
This is the new Lorca we want, for which we are fighting and for which we join the proposed actions.
