The popular Lorca have unanimously proposed the current Councilor for Economy, Finance and Interior and Senator of the Kingdom of Spain
The Board of Directors of the Popular Party of Lorca has met in an extraordinary way tonight to discuss the change in the Mayor of Lorca after the appointment of Francisco Jodar as Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
In addition to Jódar himself, the President of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, and the General Secretary of the PP of Murcia, Maruja Pelegrín, were present at the meeting.
The PP Board has unanimously appointed Fulgencio Gil, current Councilor for Economy, Finance and Internal Affairs of the City of Lorca and Senator of the Kingdom of Spain, as candidate for Mayor.
López Miras said that "there is a very important time for the Region of Murcia and had to have the best for the Government, but Lorca can count on a Mayor with experience and commitment as Fulgencio Gil."
The resignation of Jódar will take effect tomorrow in the course of an Extraordinary Plenary.
Soon the City of Lorca will announce the date of the investiture.
