García Jiménez has wanted to echo the concern of groups such as the Association "Lorca for its cultural heritage," who have expressed their unease about the irresponsibility of the mayor of Culture to expose to direct sunlight much of the pictorial work Of the lorquino painter Camacho Felizes, even at the risk of causing damage to paintings that have been stored for years in dark places for conservation
The councilor of the PSOE in the city of Lorca, Maria Antonia García Jimenez has denounced the "reckless" behavior of the edil delegate of Culture in the consistory, who even at the risk of causing damage to much of the pictorial Lorca heritage represented by the work of Camacho Felizes, chose yesterday to expose to the negative effects of the direct sunlight or the temperature, with what this can suppose on pictures that, he warns, have been stored for years in dark places for its conservation.
García Jiménez hopes that this "irresponsibility", as it is also described as interested parties such as "Lorca for its cultural heritage" has not caused "irreparable damage" to this significant work of Lorca heritage.
García Jiménez insists that to announce the restoration, which we are glad to remain in the hands of one of the best workshops in the Region of Murcia, "it was absolutely unnecessary, by imprudent, to expose these works to the effects of sunlight, Temperature or any other contingency ".
From the Socialist Group, they also regret that none of the councilors present, among whom was the heir of the Mayor of Lorca, was able to warn about this recklessness and prevent the use of the paintings of Camacho Felices' work as a setting Of the press conference of the team of government of the Popular Party ".
In this sense, they insist that "not everything is worth" in the "eagerness" of the PP government team for "looking for the photo", and more when what is put into play is the integrity of the artistic heritage of Lorca.
