Works in Los Angeles-Apolonia

This action will improve the interconnection and accessibility of the neighborhood, where 2,500 people live, and which is the traditional entrance to the city by the East through the Avenue of the Armed Forces, which connects with the city center.
The works are running on an area of ​​155.0000 square meters and have a budget of 3.8 million euros.
The works consist of the construction of pedestrian ramps and stairs to correct the different levels in the current design of the neighborhood and to promote the pedestrian crossing between this neighborhood and the university campus.
Two of the ramps will facilitate the passage of neighbors and students between the avenue of Los Angeles and the street full professor Joaquín Casalduero, through the existing alley and Isabel María Jiménez García Street;
The third will be located in Los Angeles Park, which connects the end of Fuente del Oro Street, through the street journalist Huertas Galindo.
For its part, the new staircase will give access between the streets Professor Joaquín Casalduero and the extension of the street painter Luis Tornero.
All supply and service infrastructures (sanitation, supply, electricity, gas, street lighting and communications networks) will be renewed with efficiency and energy saving criteria.
There will be improvement in the drainage and collection of rainwater, with three new collectors of greater capacity and a new network of scuppers and grates.
The works began in December and the execution period is 12 months.
These works will improve the circulation of traffic with the construction of a two-lane roundabout that will connect the medical streets Antonio Pelegrín Medina, Campuzano and Navarra and the Avenue of the Armed Forces and facilitate access to the university campus.
The first of the planned actions, the rehabilitation of the House of the Captain, is already finished.
This center will become a space for the Poncemar Foundation to care for the elderly, and will host the Chair of Gerontology at the University of Murcia.
