The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Antonia García Jimenez has proposed the recovery of the public space of the Alamedas de Lorca, and has put on the table the need to enhance its use as a "sustainable leisure place, and as a new Cultural and tourist enclave for the city ".
La Edil is committed to the realization of a landscape study of the Alamedas, which concludes in a plan of actions aimed at caring for and protecting its identity.
Among the measures proposed by the Socialist Group for the recovery and enhancement of this public space are the reconstruction of the old kiosks built in the 50s of last century;
The care and protection of vegetation, with the replanting of rose bushes and poplars;
The cleaning and restoration of the urban furniture, as well as improvements in the pavement of yellow sand and the illumination of its avenues.
La Edil says that it is time for the City of Lorca to face the recovery of this public space "to stop the deterioration of the landscape that suffers the environment of the Alamedas de Lorca."
García Jiménez denounces that this place "of reference" in Lorca "has been losing its flavor and detail of yesteryear" by the "neglect and abandonment" of the government team of the Popular Party.
In a more detailed way, García Jiménez has emphasized the importance of recovering the old kiosks of their own work from the middle of the last century "maintaining the same location, as well as the physiognomy and aesthetics that were removed at the time."
In parallel to their recovery, they propose that the consistory offer the exploitation of these as a beverage and tapas establishment, through a public tender.
In order to recover the "historical image" of the Lodges, they also propose the replanting of fragrant roses, from the same varieties that existed in the 50s, 60s and 70s of the last century, "today almost disappeared" "Were the hallmark of our Alamedas".
In the same way, they request the replanting of poplars, where they have dried, to ensure the maintenance of the essence that gives name to this place, as well as the removal of the artificial turf.
As for the urban furniture, the Socialist Group demanded the cleaning and restoration of banks and paper mills, as well as the elimination of signs of vandalism, accompanied by increased vigilance in the area for its conservation.
The pavement of yellow sand, which at one time was albero, has also been experiencing degradation.
Therefore, they ask that the avenues be properly intervened "through their tillage and renewal" to avoid that in the dry times does not raise the dust and with rain does not become potter matter.
In addition to recovering and preserving the image of this environment, from the PSOE bet on its use as a healthy leisure space and as a new cultural and tourist enclave of the city.
Among its proposals, García Jiménez advocates the use of Alamedas, specifically the platform that receives the name of the Mayors of the city of Lorca, as a venue for musical concerts during weekends and holidays, from spring to Autumn "to the more faithful Viennese or Parisian style".
