Six months after his appointment as councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes to replace José García Murcia, Gloria Martín has taken stock of the degree of response of the PP municipal executive to the issues raised since its political formation.
Martín explained that, during this time, he has formally registered 48 initiatives and questions, apart from the 12 defended in the Municipal Plenary and 62 expressed by means of wheels and press releases.
In this regard, of the former, only 12 (25% of the total) have been answered by councilors with government responsibilities.
The councilor of IU-Verdes highlighted "the absolute contempt" of the new mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil Jódar, to the issues that were referred from this group during his term as councilman of Economy and Finance and responsible for the municipal cleaning company , Limusa.
"Gil did not respond to any of our requests," Martín said.
"We are confident that the loyalty, the respect and the dialogue that has demanded to the Municipal Opposition from his new position will be able to apply them to itself".
His predecessor in office, Francisco Jodar, met only one requirement of the seven written Martín.
"It was to give us access to an urbanistic file related to the controversy of the farmers, something to which we have a right, but of which he resisted giving us a copy," said the mayor.
The rest of the issues, related to budgetary amendments or demands of the neighbors of pedanias, among others, "were never answered".
Other councilors of the PP Government team who have never sent a verbal or written response to IU-Verdes are Eulalia Ibarra (Works), Maricarmen Ruiz (Health) or Saturnina Martínez (Urbanism and Environment).
For Gloria Martín it is "bleeding" that the aforementioned councilors have not deigned to answer such important questions as the deficiencies of works in neighborhoods and districts, the cleaning of unhealthy plots, or the performance in buildings in ruins that endanger the security Of citizens.
Martin explained that this disparagement "do not exercise against IU-Greens but against the hundreds of citizens who contact us to channel their demands and concerns in the City."
For this reason, he demanded of the PP "participation, transparency and democratic mood" and that, in this new stage, "they stop staging a prepotency typical of other times, which also contradicts their own electoral promises."
The mayor of IU-Verdes also explained that, on the contrary, Belén Pérez (Citizen Security and Traffic), Ángel Meca (Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development and Aguas de Lorca), Juan Miguel Bayonas (Transport) and Francisco García (Heritage) Are "receptive" to the issues raised by IU-Greens.
Finally, Martín explained that the IU-Greens is a municipal opposition "working, serious, consistent, constructive, demanding, demanding and, if necessary, combative" and thanked the neighbors that these months have relied on their representative work In which "we will continue persevering" despite the obstacles of some local rulers.
