On the night of Monday 22 May, the British city of Manchester suffered a devastating and tragic attack, which has killed 22 people and wounded more than 60 people, many of them children and young people.
Therefore, from the Muslim Community of Lorca, we make this statement, to show our rejection of any type of violence, and against any type of attacks.
Unfortunately, violence has once again erupted in our society.
The Muslim Community of Lorca once again raise our voice to reaffirm our commitment to the culture of Peace, always in search of a just, tolerant and united society.
From the Muslim Community of Lorca we consider that these tragic attacks can in no way be justified by religion, so we can only express our rejection of the tragedy happened, knowing that no religion can be the engine of terror and violence.
Finally, from the Muslim Community of Lorca, this being one of the most extensive in Spain, we want to extend the message of our spirit to continue working so that the social relations, coexistence and cordiality that we maintain in Lorca.
We are convinced that all religions, far from fanaticism and properly understood, are and should be the promoters of coexistence, peace and freedom.
Only a united society, that claims the peace, the coexistence, the respect to the diversity and the democracy will be able to face this barbarism.
