The Local Development Councilor of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, has offered a balance of unemployment data for the month of July known this morning.
The number of unemployed has decreased in the municipality in 185 people with respect to the month of June.
In addition, this is the lowest figure since January 2009.
Sandra Martinez explained that "the reduction of the unemployed has been reflected in all sectors of activity, with the services sector being the most net job created in the last month with 131 posts. Are being carried out in the city as it is the case of the Juan Carlos I Avenue and the works of urban renewal of the district of San Cristóbal and Alameda of Cervantes the sector of the construction also has been one of the sectors that has a positive balance , 15 more employees, plus agriculture has 8 more jobs along with the industry sector that has 14 unemployed less.
The Councilor for Local Development, in this regard, has indicated that "in this way, in the comparison of the last 12 months, unemployment has declined in all sectors, accumulating a decline since July 2016 of 1,012 unemployed. Today we have the best data since 2008. It should be noted that the month of July has ended with 4,903 unemployed, so we have lowered the threshold of 5,000 unemployed, something that had not happened for almost 9 years.
Martinez said that "the decline in the number of unemployed in recent years is mainly the result of the joint effort of the socio-economic fabric of the municipality, but it is also due to the positive impact that the public investments are being made in the Lorca economy For the transformation of the municipality, as well as the programs and initiatives developed by the Government of Spain and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.Therefore, and for keeping this downward trend, we will continue to strive and work in a Coordinated so that Lorca is a benchmark in terms of employment policies, we will continue to work side by side with both regional and national administration so that less and less Lorca will have to suffer a drama such as unemployment.
