Virgen del Alcázar with its murals, burials in the old entrance through the Plaza de España or the remains of the primitive San Jorge temple, so it is one of the most impressive cultural visits that can be made in the city of Lorca ".

The Edil has highlighted that "the route is carried out by an archaeologist, who explains in depth details of the construction of the church, its artistic value or the detailed explanation of the restoration work carried out as a result of the recovery process completed Last March, when the temple was reopened on March 17, on the occasion of the Saint Patrick's Day, the visit includes access to crypt, vaults and frescoes, chapels, paintings on stone, sacristy, ... Ticket price is 4 euros for adults and children over 12 years and free for children under that age, while the "Friends of Lorca, Workshop Time" will pay 1 euro.

Montiel recalled that "in addition to this special in-depth visit, there is a free visit from Monday to Saturday in the interval between 11 and 13 hours, while on Sundays the schedule is from 11 to 12 hours. In the same way, the excolegiata is part of the guided tour of "The Three Squares and San Patricio" which are held from Monday to Friday at 11 o'clock in the morning having as a meeting point the Plaza de España.

The excolegiate of San Patricio, whose title corresponds to the Bishopric of Cartagena, is a building of Renaissance style that was declared National Historical-Artistic Monument by decree of 27 of January of 1941. Its construction lasted during almost 250 years, until 1780, following The project of Jerónimo Quijano, master of the Works of the Bishopric of Cartagena.

Conceived with cathedral airs, its interior is articulated in three naves, twelve lateral chapels in the buttresses, chorus and trascoro, girola with radial chapels and bell tower in the head.

The restoration of this property classified as a Property of Cultural Interest and the second most important temple of the Region of Murcia after the Cathedral, had a total budget of 4.37 million euros, of which the Autonomous Community contributed 70% Something more than 3 million euros.

The work carried out contemplated its structural repair as a result of the earthquakes, but also of the decorative elements.
