Pedro Sosa, a spokesman for Izquierda Unida Verdes in the municipality of Lorca has denounced this morning the poor state of conservation and cleanliness in the neighborhood of San Diego, including places that have been recently refurbished.
One of the areas identified and that has already been denounced by IU on several occasions, is the right bank of the bridge in the direction of the Avenue, in whose margins huge amounts of garbage are accumulated that give it a landfill appearance, as opposed to Left side, well landscaped and maintained by those responsible for the shopping center.
The parks of Our Lady of Sorrows and of La Petanca have also been pointed out by the mayor, who criticizes that a great investment has been made in tidying up and landscaping these spaces, so that they now present an aspect more of marranera than of garden area, With sidewalks and dirty benches not having been cleaned throughout the summer and with shrubs that after drying are not restored.
The same happens in the walk Rafael Maroto with the oaks that were planted, many have dried and others are crooked because they lack of anchorages that guide them.
He also complains that the green space of the Casa Mata has been destined to the collection of materials of the private company Ferrovial.
Sosa hoped that with the change of mayor and the departure of Mrs. Ibarra, the new councilor of Parks and Gardens, Angel Mecca, showed more enthusiasm in his functions, but sadly observes that he continues to apply the same policy of neglect and laziness in Green spaces of the city.
Other deficiencies shown by Sosa are the loss of bollards in Luis de Peralta street, which causes trees to be hit by vehicles when parking, sidewalks in bad condition due to lack of cobblestones or the accumulation of garbage during the day next to the Containers.
In this regard, Sosa has instructed the mayor responsible for security, Belén Pérez, to enforce the ordinance that prevents the deposit of garbage during the day or throw it into the street and not only give orders to fine the poorly parked cars.
For Sosa it can not be allowed that a city that is being remodeled after a great investment, offers this lamentable image and is spoiling for not exercising neither the mayor, nor its councilors, the functions for which they were voted and if they do not think Reversing this situation, urges them to stop charging the public treasury and abandon their positions.
