The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the Councilor for the Presidency and Promotion of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Rivera, visited this morning the works of urban renewal of Avenida Juan Carlos I and announced the tendering of new works, for an amount of 7 million euros, aimed at maintaining and accrediting with fact the regional government's commitment to the city after the earthquakes of 2011, which already translates into an investment of 1.2 billion euros by the various administrations , of which 345 are borne by the Autonomous Community.
Specifically, the aforementioned works focus on the urban renewal of the Santa Clara neighborhood, whose bid budget is 2,619,000 euros, and on that of the avenue of Europe and adjacent streets, which amounts to 4,362,400 euros.
In both cases, the deadline for execution of the works will be 12 months, and a deadline for the submission of bids of 40 calendar days from the date of publication of the notice in the Official Gazette of the Region (BORM).
Pedro Rivera stressed that "we continue to take steps to the front in the construction of the new Lorca, and is a good occasion to remember that as a result of this impulse have raised homes, have rebuilt neighborhoods, roads have been renovated and improved educational and cultural infrastructures, among others ".
It should be remembered that the neighborhoods of La Viña, Alfonso X, San José and San Diego have already been rebuilt and completely renovated, through works that have meant an investment of more than 55 million euros.
At the same time, there are performances already begun in Juan Carlos I Avenue, Alameda de Cervantes, Barrios Altos, Los Angeles and Apolonia and San Fernando.
To all this will be added upcoming interventions such as the renovation of the neighborhood of Cristo Rey-La Salud, so that between 2017 and 2018 will invest in these works 26.9 million euros, and the total investment in the complete transformation of 20 Lorca neighborhoods will amount to 82.5 million euros.

Santa Clara ".
