The councilors of this formation, Pedro Sosa and Gloria Martín, have met with fifty neighbors who demand, among other things, the integral remodeling of this route, the advance transfer to the City Hall of green areas and equipment of a solar annex , currently in unhealthy conditions, and to end the narrowing of the sidewalk that originates the fencing of a construction company with no activity in the area
The councilors of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Pedro Sosa and Gloria Martín, have held a meeting with fifty neighbors of the Camino Marín who have shown their support in the claims that, for years, make to the city of Lorca.
Among them is the lack of compliance with the integral remodeling of the road, which has two directions, which only has some sections of sidewalk and almost no night lighting.
It is also a "black spot" of traffic as it is crossed by a level crossing and suffers an intense vehicular traffic by giving access to an important concentration of services such as the police station of National Police, the health center and the SUAP of Sutullena, the center of mental health, the municipal nursery and the school of plastic arts.
Neighbors denounce "insecurity" both because of the lack of speed control in that stretch, and because the cars circulate "glued to the doors of their houses."
Sosa and Martin found that some neighbors who need to use a wheelchair are forced to move along the road.
It is also a road transited by a significant number of minors given their proximity to IES Ros Giner and public school Ana Caicedo, so they called for "urgent improvements" to ensure their safety.
Martín recalled that in July this year, the Local Government Board of Lorca City Council issued a tender for the conditioning of part of Marin Road, for an amount of 292,314 euros, which will not be enough to cover the needs of the area.
"Only the remodeling of a section (the one between the railroad track and the newly opened Actor Antonio Tudela Street, leaving intact that which converges with the Cat Path), which has also been left out of the urban renewal project of the district of Alameda de Cervantes and adjacent urban areas, in which Martin showed his surprise because this action is to be carried out by the City Council and not by the EIB loan as initially proposed. "Does the City Council intend to pay for the urbanization of this space without demanding the private owners who are part of the Partial Plan the part that corresponds to them? "he asked.
In this regard, Martín explained that the plot of 30,898 m² located next to the Marin Road - which neighbors denounce that it has become a "dust factory", in a "focus of dirt in which the rats bell at its widest" and in a "botellódromo" until the wee hours of the morning - is part of a Partial Plan (Sector 9) approved in 2009 by the City Council, which in 2011 was carried out a Reparation Project.
At that time the PP announced that the sector would articulate around an important green area of 6.148 m², that the consistory would have 4,588 m² for equipment where would be located, for example, the Youth Space, that would create 223 parking spaces and that the road would be extended up to 15 meters wide.
However, six years later, no action has been taken.
"Now we find that the City Council is going to urbanize part of that unit of action so we demand that they are the object of an Urbanization Project, and that they are borne by the affected owners in consideration of the corresponding quota of participation," said the mayor of IU-Greens.
"If the City Council approves it with its own funds, which is not legally foreseen, they must be disaggregated and quantified in the general works project, and the amount will be demanded from these owners, since it is their duty to pay the works to complete the urbanization of the area subjected to comprehensive urban action, "he claimed.
In addition, as requested by the neighbors, Martín claimed that the Consistory of his parcels the use provided in the Partial Plan, especially to the one classified as a green zone, prior to the final approval of the Urbanization Project.
Meanwhile, and provisionally, the councilor of IU-Greens asked the City to condition the space with a treatment based on zahorra to avoid dust in suspension, and compel the other owners to fence their plots and keep them in conditions of healthiness.
Neighbors also demand the City Council to end the narrowing of a sidewalk, invaded by more than half its width by a fence.
"They asked the government team two years ago, and it is so easy how to pick up the phone and ask the owner of the site a construction company that does not currently operate in that space to re-lock the fence so that the pedestrians can move normally" , Martin protested.
Other complaints from neighbors have to do with the maintenance deficit of the park near their homes or with the floods that occur in some of their plots due to the lack of scuppers or the installation of these above ground level.
For all this, the neighbors will today send an urgent meeting request to the municipal government team of the PP and have announced "mobilizations" if they do not get "formal and guaranteed" responses to their demands before 9/11.
For their part, Sosa and Martin have committed to raise a motion to the next Municipal Plenary in which they will collect "all the concerns of the residents of the Marin Road" if those affected do not get a satisfactory response from the PP.
