The Mayor of Lorca and the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of CARM visited this morning the installation of a new system of photovoltaic power generation, on floats, in a raft of regulation of the referred Community of Irrigators, with object of supplying the pumping station Huerto Chico, and in which they have invested 654.221,59 euros
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Jódar, visited this morning a performance that has been carried out in the field of renewable energy in the facilities of the Irrigation Community of Lorca, located in Huerto Chico, and to which have been allocated 654.221,59 euros.
The action consisted in the installation of a novel system of photovoltaic power generation, on floats, in a raft of regulation of the referred Community of Irrigators, in order to supply to the station Huerto Chico.
This investment allows to reduce energy costs and emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
In addition, evaporation of the water stored in said raft decreases and the proliferation of algae.
The system has a total installed capacity of 392 kWp and will avoid, throughout its useful life, the emission of 3,200 tonnes of CO2 equivalent to the atmosphere.
Francisco Jódar said that "these actions are a sign of the regional government's commitment to irrigation communities in the Region of Murcia to have more efficient and better adapted systems. We have the most modern irrigation systems, the most are an example to follow at the international level ".
The Mayor of Lorca, for his part, has indicated that "this new renewable energy project underlines the commitment of the Autonomous Community with Lorca, since it contemplates an investment of more than 650,000 euros. In this case in particular, we are talking about large It is worth noting that almost every day the Regional Government receives good news in the form of investments for the development and growth of the city. In fact, during recent days we have celebrated new developments such as the Sol, the financing by the EIB to complete the last phase the works of the Center of Fairs and Congresses of Santa Quiteria or a new economic injection for the rehabilitation of the Sanctuary Patronal.
Gil has stressed that "from the City of Lorca we will continue to claim the projects that Lorca deserve. This is the time of Lorca and therefore we will continue to promote new actions that benefit our municipality and contribute to underline our local capital. we continue to support the implementation in our city of this type of initiatives, which are being generalized as more concrete and outstanding examples of innovation and development within the main economic and labor engine.
The investment has been financed by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The actions, which have had a term of execution of three months, are framed in the 'Plan Regadios Inteligentes'.
Horizon 2023 '.
It contemplates investments for a total of 80 million euros, of which the public initiative will contribute about 39 million euros.
