The socialist spokesman regrets the parsimony of the current Mayor and his team, unable to demand from CARM and Segura Hydrographic Confederation the necessary preventive actions, given the "obvious risk" that our municipality presents again to suffer the consequences of a possible cold drop
The spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has once again denounced the "dangerous" lack of cleanliness that most rivers and streams of the municipality of Lorca.
According to the socialist official, the accumulation of weeds, bushes and debris in the public channels makes it difficult to "drain" them and increase the risk of flooding.
Mateos regrets that the current Mayor and his People's Party team "have not learned anything" in recent years, with the recent tragic effects of the September 2012 floods. The test is, among other things, allowing the days to pass without do the "minimum" that, in his opinion should be to keep the "clear of obstacles" to facilitate water drainage.
In fact, the Municipality of Lorca has not been able to condition those urban stretches of the ramblas, such as Las Chatas or Las Señoritas, whose maintenance is a matter of the consistory.
Diego José Mateos attributes this neglect to the lack of forcefulness of the current Mayor, clearly unable to stand before the CARM and Segura Hydrographic Confederation and demand the "immediate" compliance with the necessary preventive measures for the adequacy of the channels public, given the obvious risk of suffering the consequences of a possible cold drop.
According to Mateos "a municipality like that of Lorca must be fully prepared so that there will not be repeated tragic episodes like those experienced in 2012."
The Socialist Spokesman denounced that five years after the last floods, the Popular Party, despite governing in all administrations, still does not promote "essential" measures such as the Plan for Cleaning and Maintenance of channels and drainage;
the construction of a drainage network for the conduction of the waters to the rambla of Biznaga or the enlargement of the eyes of evacuation under the fast track Lorca-Aguilas.
Measures, all of them, requested on numerous occasions by the PSOE.
Likewise, the Socialists are again requesting the conclusion of the current Aviation Defense Plan, which must contain the construction of floodplain dams at the headwaters of Vilerda, Nogalte, Béjar and Torrecilla rambles "to prevent flooding of broad sectors densely populated in the deputations of the orchard and the field of Lorca.
In addition, they are again requesting the cleaning of the old arches of turbid waters and that are mostly in the hamlet of Campillo.
