The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, today visited, together with the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, the works of adaptation of the sports areas of the Institutes Ibáńez Martín and Ros Giner de Lorca, which began in July, and reported that "they are executed in 25 percent of the total, that is, that they are progressing at a good pace and as planned."

Martinez-Cachá asked teachers and students "to be patient about possible disruptions that can cause the works" and thanked the entire educational community "his good disposition."

He also said that after its reconstruction, the Ros Giner will be a reference center in the region next to Ibáńez Martín and will benefit more than 2,000 students. "

At present, demolition, clearing, removal of sports equipment and lighting poles, as well as contribution, compaction and leveling of lands have been carried out;

work has begun on sanitation and storm drainage networks and those on designated sports grounds.

The proceedings have a maximum term of execution of nine months.

The works involve building modern facilities, with four sports courts, and improving the patios of both centers, works that have a budget of 845,000 euros.

This investment adds to the 3.8 million of the construction of the new institute Ros Giner and 900,000 euros of the new sports pavilion that was finished last year.

Likewise, Martínez-Cachá stressed that "in the coming weeks, Ros Giner will receive the rest of the equipment of the auditorium," and advanced that "the interactive whiteboards and monitors that will equip the center will arrive in the month of November , because it is still in the bidding phase. "

More infrastructures

The head of Education assured that "this course will invest nearly 20 million euros in improving the infrastructure of the centers to promote a higher educational quality, as this is one of the great challenges of our department."

During the academic year 2017-2018 "large projects will be implemented in the Region of Murcia and also in Lorca, where it is planned to expand the CEIP Juan Navarro Garcia de La Hoya."

In addition, work has been completed on the new pavilion for Children of the school Campico Pasico.
