The President of the Community, Fernando López Miras, attended today the Gala of the Day of the Mayor that is celebrated on the occasion of the Fair and Festivals of Lorca, where he stressed that "the commitment of the regional government is to continue working to ensure an active and greater well-being to the nearly 250,000 people over 65 who live in the Region of Murcia. "
López Miras underlined that there are currently more than 22,000 the largest dependents served in the Region through financial aid and services.
In the last two years, the Executive has created 691 new places of services in residences and day centers, and works to extend the service of home help of the unit.
In the specific case of Lorca, the Community allocates more than 8 million euros to the care of 824 elderly people, through the concert of places in residences, day centers, telecare service and home help.
