Socialists show their satisfaction that the Ministry intends to enable a Point of Continuous Attention in San Diego.
They understand that this is a consequence, on the one hand, of the just demands of the neighbors after the closure of the ER, and on the other, to give a solution to the inability of the Popular Party in Lorca to make the necessary land available to Health. the construction of a second health center in Barrio despite being approved 10 years.
The councilor of the PSOE, David Romera has again demanded the current Mayor and his PP team in Lorca to put at the disposal of Health the necessary land for the construction of a new Health Center with Emergency Service (SUAP) in San Cristóbal, as long as the local PP continues without giving up the land, the Regional Government, also the PP, will continue to have the perfect excuse not to allocate one euro to the construction of this Health Center.
Romera recalls that for months, the Popular Party has on the table a proposal prepared by the PSOE with neighbors and groups of the area, five feasible places in the neighborhood of San Cristobal for the location of the new Health Center.
The Edil insists that the new Health Center that claim from the PSOE with neighbors is the "final solution" to the problem of basic health care in the area, as it would be the only way to share the health population of the area ( more than 26,000 cards) between this and the Health Center of San Diego, which is currently the most saturated in the entire Region of Murcia.
"Only with the construction of a new center, El Barrio (San Cristóbal, San Diego, Ramblilla de Tejares, Los Angeles, Apolonia, Río) and neighboring councils, will have optimal standards in the provision of a basic and essential service for population".
The Socialists have been aware of the intention of the Ministry of Health to enable a Point of Continuous Attention in San Diego.
This hypothetical opening "fills us with satisfaction, but it should not distract us from what is our main objective to achieve" the construction of a new Health Center with Emergency Service in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, which also includes an Emergency Service, "to achieve optimal standards in health care for the population of Lorca."
Romera recalls that this center has been contemplated for more than 10 years in the new regional health map.
In addition, the need to build this center was ratified in the Plenum of the Regional Assembly on May 12, 2016, after a motion by the PSOE and of course, thanks to the local pressure.
However, so far, it has not been possible to build this new Health Center, since for a decade "the different PP Government teams in Lorca have been unable to find and cede the land necessary for its construction because there has never been a real political will to do so. "
The construction of a new Health Center in San Cristobal is "enormously necessary" to decongest San Diego facilities, a center with severe overcrowding problems in the waiting rooms and whose users suffer the largest waiting lists, as well as has denounced on numerous occasions the Socialist Party in Lorca.
