Mateos asks Gil Jódar "responsibility and height of sights" to make a winning proposal in the third call for EDUSI funds, after Lorca has been left out in the last two calls.
The PSOE Spokesman in the Municipality of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has asked Gil Jódar to convene the Sectoral Council to Strengthen the Historic Center to develop, with the participation and work of all social, economic and professional actors in the field, the best possible proposal to win the third call for EDUSI funds, in which more than 22 million are in play for the full recovery of the Historic Quarter.
The deadline for submitting the proposals will be two months, so that until November 22 "there is more than enough time Mateos adds - to improve the strategy," because "it is clear that the political leadership of the PP is proving unsuccessful, after two consecutive blows ".
Without calling into question the praiseworthy work of municipal technicians and workers in the preparation of the previous proposals, Mateos reproaches the Popular Party for refusing to bring together the many experts, industry professionals, collectives and social, political and economic agents, such as CECLOR and Chamber of Commerce that, he says, "we are looking forward to contributing our proposals to create the necessary strategic plan for the recovery of the Historic Quarter."
Mateos asks Gil Jódar "height of sights" when it comes to working for funds that, he says "are from city, not from City Hall".
To do this, and as the Socialists have been doing since they pushed the pact for the Recovery of the Historic Quarter, they call for the union of all the agents involved to build a "winning proposal" with which Lorca emerges victorious from this third call.
The first step, insists Mateos, must be the call of the Sectorial Council to Strengthen the Historical Center for the drafting of the necessary Strategic Plan, which the PP promised to launch last November.
Almost a year later, from the PSOE regret that this body has not been convened, nor has there been a single line of this necessary road map.
Mateos advocates the creation of multidisciplinary working groups that have the vast potential and knowledge that exists in this city to approach with the best guarantees all the initiatives and proposals aimed at the integral recovery of the Historic Quarter.
The socialist spokesman insists that "we are facing a new opportunity that Lorca can not lose again," after "two consecutive blows" in which the city, both first and second call was left out of these funds that the Socialists considered "vital" to take advantage of them in the face of the necessary recovery of the Historic Quarter.
Mateos recalls that only in the last year this government team has lost up to two times 14 million euros that would have been earmarked directly for the much desired and desired by all, recovery of the Historic Quarter.
"It would be a serious error for the PP to want to do the same thing and expect different results," says Mateos. "In the PSOE he adds - we are convinced that presenting a credible, strong and winning project consists of making it with the involvement of each and every one of them. the economic, social and professional agents in the matter ".
