IU-V: "The deprivation of the PP prevents to reduce the IBI to the Lorca and compels them to declare more for their homes in the IRPF" (27/09/2017)

Pedro Sosa criticized that the PP did not request the updating of the cadastral values, which would have resulted in a reduction of the Property Tax.

Said update would also serve to ensure that residents are charged with 1.1% of the cadastral value of real estate in terms of return on real estate capital in the IRPF, instead of the current 2%

The spokesman of the Municipal Group of United Left-Greens in Lorca, Pedro Sosa, has strongly criticized that the local government team of the PP has not requested the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service to update the cadastral values for 2017, which would have resulting in a reduction of the Property Tax (IBI) on almost 68,000 receipts from next year.

Sosa assures that Lorca does not appear in the list of municipalities approved in Ministerial Order HFP / 885/2017, of 19 September, in which the coefficients for updating the cadastral values established by the Law of General State Budgets for the year 2018.

The Law allowed the City of Lorca to settle the substantial differences that exist between market values and those that served as the basis for the determination of the current cadastral values in this municipality, dating from 2005 and affected by the real estate bubble.

However, the Consistory did not inform the Directorate General of the Cadastre before May 31 something that did last year the request for application of the new coefficients.

In this regard, Sosa has demanded responsibility for the fact that Lorca will not benefit in 2018 from a "downward" adjustment of the value of their homes, given that the real estate market has devalued since the last adjustment of the cadastral values carried out twelve years ago.

Lorca people say more for their homes

On the other hand, Sosa denounced that the fact that the City Council has not updated the cadastral value reports since 2005, also implies that the Tax Agency is charging citizens 2% of the cadastral value of real estate for performance of real estate capital in Personal Income Tax (IRPF), instead of 1.1% corresponding to those whose cadastral value has been revised, modified or determined by a collective valuation procedure that has come into force in the last ten years.

That is, a citizen who has a home in Lorca valued at 60,000 euros, is declaring 1,200 euros per return on real estate capital (2%).

If you were applying 1.1%, the same citizen, for the same housing, would have an imputed income of 660 euros - almost half - for that concept.

For Sosa, the disdain of the City Council to update the cadastral values, which date from 2005, far removed from the current market values is assuming an increase in the tax base of the IRPF for thousands of neighbors, which directly affects their pockets.

For this reason, Sosa demanded to the mayor of the PP, Fulgencio Gil, to request to the Territorial Management of the Cadastre in Murcia, a collective revision of the cadastral values so that the citizens can reduce in half the percentage that is applied to them in the Personal Income Tax in terms of return on real estate capital and also the IBI.
